winners of The Global RLI Awards 2008
have been announced at a spectacular Gala
Dinner held in The Great Hall at Wembley Stadium, London,
on 12 June. A fantastic night was had by
all as we celebrated the great and the good of the

Held
in The Great Hall at Wembley Stadium on 12 June, the Global
RLI Awards, the culmination of the two-day RLI Global Opportunities
2008 Conference: ‘Embracing Global Retail’, once
again promised a wonderful evening, celebrating the most innovative,
successful and imaginative retail and leisure concepts, developments
and characters from around the world — and once again
the evening delivered the good!
In her welcoming address to over 600 guest assembled for the
Gala Awards Evening, RLI Publisher Jayne Rafter said: “It
is clear that our industry presents us with many challenges,
but also many great opportunities, as we have been hearing during
the past two days. This is a truly dynamic marketplace that
is continually evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of
an increasingly savvy consumer and leading the way in the evolution
of human experience. Let us hope that the next 12 months delivers
as much innovation, imagination, flair and ingenuity.” |

| As
the guests gathered for a Champagne Reception, they mingled,
chatted and were entertained by a pair of alluring belly dancers
until dinner was announced. After a delicious meal, the evening’s
entertainment commenced as the West End cast performed highlights
from the musical ‘We Will Rock You’. With standing
ovations every night, the phenomenal show continues to go from
strength-to strength at London’s Dominion Theatre. The
champion of musicals has gone global with productions in Australia,
Spain, America, Germany, Russia, South Africa and Japan. |

Graham
Cartledge, Chairman of global design practice Benoy, commented:
