The Al Maryah Central shopping mall will be open by the end of next year, with 76 per cent of construction currently completed. Located at Al Maryah Island, Al Maryah Central is a joint venture projects between Abu Dhabi-based Gulf Capital and the US-based Related Company. The 2.8 million square feet mall will feature the first Macy’s outside of the US, the first Bloomingdales in Abu Dhabi and 20 specialist Al Tayer stores as part of the 400 store retail offering. In addition the mall will include 100 restaurants and cafes, a 21-screen Vox Cinema with IMAX and a host of other attractions. Subsequent phases of the development will include residential units and a hotel in two high-rise towers. The new shopping mall will be linked to the adjacent property, which is The Galleria Mall, which opened in 2013 and was also developed by Gulf Related.


Vincitore Real Estate Development has announced the launch of its second project in Dubai, Vincitore Boulevard, following the success of Vincitore Palacio, which was unveiled last year. The new project, located within Al Barsha South’s Arjan district, will span over 173,337sq ft and will feature 216 apartments comprising studios and one-bedroom units. It will also include about 30 boutique retail outlets and is expected to be handed over by April 2019. The development will also offer infinity pools, a wave pool, a gymnasium, a library and podium gardens. Prices for the studios will begin from AED 555,000. Vijay Doshi, Managing Director, Vincitore Real Estate Development, commented on the announcement, saying: “Demand for quality-driven residences remains a top priority for property buyers. This is the kind of property development that we would like to offer and contribute to the growth of Dubai as one of the world’s most sustainable cities.”


The much anticipated ABC Verdun gets closer to officially opening its doors, with the opening date now set for later this month on 28 July. With work currently being completed on its final phases for its grand public opening, ABC Verdun is expected to attract locals and tourists alike. Healthy Sports has made its debut in Hili Mall, Al Ain City’s biggest community shopping centre. Healthy Sports brings to Al Ain brands like Mizuno, Adidas, Nike, Skechers, Speedo, Joma, Peak, Body Solid, Proteus, Ben Lee and many more. Healthy Sports offers a wide range of products for both genders and for different age groups. The products include sportswear, swimsuits, footballs, football gloves and fitness products such as treadmills. The brand also offers footwear for kids, men and adults. It also offers products such as sports shirts and hoodies, shirts and shorts for running and playing basketball. Beside sportswear, it offers equipment for working out, such as elliptical bicycles, treadmills, rowers and indoor bikes.


Based in Bahrain, the Dilmunia Mall Development Company is set to develop a unique family-centric mall concept over a 26,754sq m area in the heart of Dilmunia Island, within the Muharraq Governorate, at an estimated cost of $137M. A first-of-its-kind retail destination in the kingdom, Mall of Dilmunia will boast more than 200 retail outlets on a total built-up area of 125,000sq m (with a spacious underground car park) besides the kingdom’s first state-of-the-art indoor ice-rink. With a GLA of 47,300sq m, the family-centric destination will feature excitingly unique entertainment centres, spectacular new retail outlets besides a wide range of F&B (Food and Beverage) concepts from across the Middle East and North Africa region and a layout unlike any other mall in the country. The main contractor of the project is Bahrain-based Cyprus Cybarco Tabet JV, while the international architectural design has been readied by Singapore-based DP Architects. The Crescent-shaped mall will overlook a beautiful canal and a lush green landscape that is also complemented by the greenery within the mall. Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Dilmunia Mall Development Company Chairman commented on the new project, saying: “The Mall of Dilmunia is purely a Bahrain-branded project with a balanced representation of modernistic and futuristic architecture and promotes an exciting family-oriented ambience within it. A key entertainment feature is a spectacular 16m high cylindrical acquarium with acquatic life that will mesmerize visitors from each level of the mall and hi-tech indoor ice-rink built on the first floor.”
