Bringing light and joy to town centres, malls and leisure centres throughout Europe and beyond, MK Illumination brings festive warmth to millions of people every year.
RLI talks to Thomas Mark, Sales Director Europe, and Anita Stampfl, Senior Manager of Communications & External Relations, to find out more.
As a designer, manufacturer and supplier of festive and decorative lighting for the professional end user, MK Illumination is proud to count amongst its clients numerous shopping centres, municipalities, hotels, banks and insurance companies.
More recently the company has concentrated on developing and strengthening its position and, even in these tough conditions, has continued to invest extensively in product development; it is a leading LED product supplier and is contributing to a rapid transition to low energy consuming decorative light installations.
Together with its European sales subsidiaries and its own purpose-built manufacturing facilities, the company is focused on serving the Illumination customer of the future.
Says Thomas Mark, twin brother of founder and CEO Klaus Mark, and Sales Director Europe: “When the company was set up back in 1996, it was because Klaus could not find a quality product in the marketplace; we started small, but have developed into a much larger community, an extended family if you will.”.
Indeed, as one of Europe’s leading festive and decorative lighting providers, the company now has its own wholesale business, as well as manufacturing and designing its own extensive range of products.
“Our job is also about brand building,” explains Senior Manager of Communications & External Relations, Anita Stampfl. “We don’t just provide decorative lights, we are there from A-Z: we design and produce visualisations for our clients, manufacture the product and control its quality; we install, we dismantle and we maintain. We also provide financing and storage – this is as complete a package as you are likely to find in the industry.”
With its headquarters in Austria, MK Illumination currently operates in 17 markets, for clients such as SES, ECE, ING Real Estate, Steen & Strom, Redevco, Migros, Trigranit, Multi Development, cefic Simon Ivanhoe, Amfi, Unibail Rodamco, Old Mutual and Value Retail.
