Established 70 years ago, Neptunus Structures began life predominantly offering structure solutions for short-term events and corporate hospitality functions. The family-run firm, which employs over 200 people, identified a gap in the market and adapted its business model to provide modular temporary and semi-permanent structure solutions to cater for all needs.
In recent years Neptunus has had success, particularly in the retail sector, providing temporary shopping malls, test locations for retailers, supermarkets, car showrooms and leisure facilities such as sports halls and theatres.
Based in the Netherlands with a manufacturing plant in Poland, the company has branches in France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland and, since 2009, the UK.
“All our products are designed and manufactured in-house,” Trasler explains. “It is a family business and we are passionate about what we do and we have a real belief in the product."
“Eight years ago we developed a product called ‘Evolution’ which is the most technically advanced product of its kind in today’s market. It is based on a highly technical and innovative design with durable components which makes it ideal for the retail and leisure sectors.”
Evolution is a versatile modular structure available in almost any size footprint ranging in clear span widths up to 60m, unlimited lengths and wall heights up to 13m.
We are constantly designing and developing new products. Since 2002 we have developed another two versions of Evolution and each one has something different to offer, whether it’s in terms of insulation, building regulations or multi-storey capabilities,” she adds.
“The height can vary because we can include a mezzanine floor level; If a client hasn’t got a huge footprint but wants a particular sized store we can achieve that with multi storeys."
One of the company’s most recent projects was to build a temporary shopping centre in Stein, the Netherlands, after the permanent structure was destroyed by fire.
“It’s going to take them some time to rebuild a more permanent facility so we have a contract for two years for the temporary structure,” Trasler says.
