Argentina Mall Reopens its Doors

The historic El Solar shopping centre, located in the Las Cañitas neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, will reopen its doors after a comprehensive transformation process that seeks to redefine the shopping and leisure experience.

According to the news site El Cronista, the shopping centre underwent a major structural and technological renovation with an investment of $3.6M, incorporating the country’s first 4D shopping model, as explained by Pedro Peralta Ramos, Director of the developer, Fortín Moure.

The project introduces an innovative approach by replicating the omni-channel system of El Corte Inglés in Spain, which centralises purchases from all stores through a single digital platform. This allows users to browse, select and purchase products online from a single portal, combining physical and virtual experiences.

Among the main changes, El Solar will incorporate a new gastronomic space called El Cubo, which replaces the traditional food court and aims to establish itself as a meeting point to enjoy diverse culinary offerings in a modern and bright environment.

With this renovation, the shopping centre aims to maintain its monthly flow of more than 240,000 visitors, while also enhancing digital interaction to attract new audiences. In total, 70 brands comprise its current offering, now complemented by an e-commerce strategy that expands its reach beyond the physical space.

“Today, people are looking for places to linger, not just places to shop,” Peralta Ramos told El Cronista, summarising the spirit of the new El Solar: a shopping centre that combines technology, design and experience to keep pace with the evolution of urban consumption.
