Global retail design leader Landini Associates has announced the debut of ALDICornerStore, an original small-format concept created for city neighbourhoods and embracing fresh food and original graphics by local artists.
Designed as a creative retail model and an elevated customer experience in urban settings, ALDI Corner Store presents a bold, locally inflected and art-infused convenience model for the iconic global supermarket brand.
Landini Associates designed the facades, interiors, uniforms and graphics to “create a solution that is both a design signature and memorably ALDI but also different,” says Mark Landini, Creative Director of Landini Associates. He continues: “Each ALDI Corner Store will be recognisable and distinct, both in the design parameters and in this first store by commissioning a unique artwork.”
This week’s debut of the ALDI Corner Store, at 99 Mount Street in North Sydney, unveils the work of Sydney artist Mulga in the interior, façade, uniforms and shopping bags. The background palette of sustainable materials includes pale brown brick, white tiles, blockwork, terrazzo, brown paper, black steel, galvanized steel mesh, timber palettes, oak and walnut.
