Bicester Village kicks off the new season with its ‘Spring Fever’ campaign, a bright and beautiful showcase of the artists and designers who live and work in London’s East End. Inspired by Maryam Eisler’s Voices East London, the events launch on 7 March with a Colour Walk. This will be followed by a concept store featuring these new voices in fashion and art, opening on 23 April.
Led by East End art doyenne Sue Kreitzman, the Bicester Village Colour Walk takes its cue from the gathering of creatives who meet every month at Old Spitalfields Market to flaunt their fantastical clothing designs through the streets of East London. For the first time, the Walk will wind its way to Marylebone Station, where this vibrant ensemble will be whisked by train to Bicester Village deep in the heart of Oxfordshire countryside.
The Colour Walk will include, among others, ‘post-it poet’ Andy Leek, the artist behind the powerful ‘Notes to Strangers’ series; French fashion designer Anne Sophie Cochevelou; milliner-to-the-stars Noel Stewart; shoe designer extraordinaire Natacha Morro and celebrity stylist Daniel Lismore, whose creations combine haute couture with vintage fabrics and found objects. Kreitzman will lead the Colour Walk through the Village and down its main shopping avenue, leaving behind a scattering of crepe-paper blooms courtesy of Pom Pom Factory founder Karen Hsu.
Part gallery part boutique, the new concept store is curated by artist turned fashion designer Mei-Hui Liu. The store will feature limited-edition pieces from the participating artists, as well as Voices East London T-shirts, totes and hoodies.
Following collaborations with the V&A, Tate and fig-2, this exciting art-inspired offering is part of an ongoing commitment by Bicester Village to provide its 7 million annual guests with unique and memorable experiences each time they visit.
