AW Lab Begins Portugal Expansion

The Italian chain AW Lab, specialised in the distribution of sneakers and streetwear fashion, has expanded its horizons and landed in Portugal.

AW Lab has just opened its first store on Portuguese soil in the shopping centre Mar Shopping Algarve (Almancil), settling in a space with an area of 170sq m. The chain’s plans are to develop in the Portuguese market with its own stores and franchising, as highlighted by Pangea Retail in a statement.

Owned by the Bata group, the Italian chain is present in 16 markets. Before the pandemic, AW Lab’s sales were around 300 million euros. For its part, the Spanish company Pangea Retail has Jordi Farré as CEO and Founder and focuses its activity on advising companies on their commercial development and franchising. Among the most recent additions to its portfolio are French perfumery chain Adopt and Italian menswear company Dan John, which joins other brands such as Salsa, Okaïdi and Jott.

In recent years, the consultancy has invested in its own expansion and, in addition to Spain, operates in Portugal, Italy, France and Romania.
