The 136-year-old regional department store retailer will unveil a new store concept in December in two locations: The Grove at Wesley Chapel in Wesley Chapel, Florida and The Centre at Preston Ridge in Frisco, Texas.
The new Belk Market stores will offer a curated assortment of top national and private label brands in a smaller footprint of 25,000 to 30,000sq ft. The company is working on additional locations to open in 2026.
In addition to customer favourites, Belk Market will feature a mix of unique products and frequent deliveries of new brands and styles tailored for each community, the retailer said. Customers can expect new items across men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, as well as shoes, handbags, accessories, home décor and fine jewellery.
Belk, which is privately owned and based in Charlotte, North Carolina, opened its first store in 1888 and its first outlet store in January 2023. The company currently operates nearly 300 Belk and Belk Outlet locations across 16 Southeastern states.
