BJ’S Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. is continuing its expansion beyond its Northeast U.S. roots into its 18th state of operation.
The membership warehouse club retailer is opening its newest store, in Noblesville, Ind., on Friday, Sep. 30, 2022. The opening will bring the retailer’s total number of U.S. locations to 231 and will mark the first store location for BJ’s in Indiana.
The store will feature a BJ’s Gas location on-site and offer members everyday low fuel prices, with the opportunity to earn extra savings through its BJ’s Fuel Saver loyalty program. Customers will have access to omnichannel options including curbside and in-store pickup, same-day delivery, standard delivery from the BJs.com e-commerce site, as well as in-store shopping.
When shopping in-club, members will have access to ExpressPay through BJ’s mobile app, a service that allows shoppers to scan products as they go and avoid the checkout line at the end of their trip
The Indiana location will feature a selection of fresh foods, produce, a full-service deli, household essentials, pet supplies, and various exclusive offerings. The store will also offer an assortment of seasonal items, home décor, family fashion items, toys, technology products, and a selection of local products.
BJ’s previously announced it would be opening four new clubs as the next phase of its 2022 development plans, including locations in New Albany, Ohio; Wayne, N.J.; and Midlothian, Va.; as well as Noblesville, Ind. All the new clubs will feature a BJ’s Gas station.
The company is expanding as it recently reported its best-ever earnings in the second quarter of fiscal 2022. Total revenues rose 22% year-over-year to $5.1 billion from $4.2 billion. Adjusted net income increased 27% to $141 million from $111 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2021, while adjusted earnings per share (EPS) grew 29% to 1.06 from $0.82.
