It has been announced that food and drink favourites Bakers + Baristas and YouMeSushi have both agreed long-term leases to join its growing eatery line-up.
Both operators have signed 10-year leases at the mixed-use waterfront destination, adding to Dockside’s food and drink offering which includes family favourites such as Zizzi and wagamama, as well as recent arrivals McDonalds and Sotto Lounge.
Specialists in coffees, cakes and pastries, Bakers + Baristas will occupy a 1,750sq ft unit within Dockside. Since its formation in 1981, the chain has grown to over 60 stores across the UK and Ireland and amassed a well-thumbed recipe book of over 400 cakes and muffins, with an ever-changing seasonal offer in all of its stores.
Meanwhile, YouMeSushi will be taking a 721sq ft unit as the growing chain looks to continue its UK expansion by offering its wide variety of sushi dishes to Medway diners.
The arrivals of Bakers + Baristas and YouMeSushi come as Dockside continues to evolve its tenant mix to best serve the fast-growing community surrounding the all-day destination. Located just over 30 miles from central London in the Medway region of Kent, Dockside at Chatham Maritime is both easily accessible for commuters while also serving 14,000 residents, more than 12,000 students from across four universities and employees from major businesses located in the area.
Dockside forms part of a 300-acre waterfront regeneration zone, featuring historic dockyards, an independent distillery and a first-class marina serving a thriving water sports organisation. Blending a mix of retail, leisure and dining brands as well as a range of community services, Dockside sits opposite St Mary’s Island, a new 5,000-home residential community.
