‘Flawless response to Covid-19’ helped Dubai’s DXB airport retain title as the world’s busiest airport.

Having retained its position as the world’s busiest international airport with 29.1 million passengers in 2021, followed by its busiest quarter since the dawn of the Covid pandemic with 13.6 million passengers in the first three months of 2022, the Dubai International Airport (DXB) is “on the right track”, said Jamal al Hai, the Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports.

Jamal al Hai shared the comment during his welcome address at the Airport Innovation and Development Conference held at the Gulf Airport Leaders’ Forum (GALF), on the sidelines of the 21st edition of the Airport Show in Dubai.

“This is, in fact, the outcome of a successful handling of the crisis and what you see in Dubai today is the outcome of a flawless response to the pandemic achieved through a balance between protecting the health and well-being of the people while minimising the impact on business and economy,” Jamal al Hai said.
