First Phase of 50km Mountain-Bike Track Completed in Mushrif National Park

The first phase completed by Dubai Municipality boasts a 20km three-metre-wide track with a capacity to accommodate over 3,000 cyclists per day.

The cycling track is graded by different colours which are based on international standards and speculations. Green represents a relatively simple track that is suitable for beginner cyclists. Blue is representative of a more challenging path which is suitable for intermediate cyclists and mountain bikers that have basic skills. Red is used to mark a tougher trail that is suitable only for highly skilled mountain bikers. Finally, black demonstrates an extremely challenging path that should only be undertaken by expert cyclists with a high level of fitness.

The first phase has seen 20km of track covering the first two levels, green and blue. Upon completion, another 30km of red and black coloured paths will be added.

“The mountain bike track meets the highest global benchmarks and has been built to align with the terrain of the area and meet the requirements of both amateur and professional users. The project will support Dubai’s broader effort to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in the emirate,” said Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
