The fashion giant has added a second-hand clothing offering to its website in Sweden, H&M’s home market.
The new pre-loved section allows shoppers to purchase and sell second-hand clothing from H&M Group-owned brands, as well as third-party brands such as asos, Nike and Zara. The offering is first launching in Sweden followed by Germany, with the possibility to expand the offering further. The brand has been focussing on more circular fashion models, including resale, over the past few years.
An H&M Spokesperson said: “We will continue to gradually increase our offer online and customers will be able to purchase a curated selection of second-hand items from our online shop.”
Meanwhile, Felicia Reuterswärd, Sustainability Manager, H&M Sweden took to LinkedIn to say: “Decade of an action here we go – H&M Sweden has taken the first step in an integrated experience for second-hand garments on hm.com, one of the biggest platforms for fashion. Let’s make second hand fashion the new normal!”
