As JYSK, the largest Danish retailer operating globally continues its plans to expand in the UK, it announces it will be opening a brand-new store on September 29th 2022, in Barnsley, Yorkshire. The new store will be situated at Unit 2, Wombwell Lane Retail Park and managed by Matt White. The latest JYSK concept store to open in the UK will boast approx. 1200 sq mtrs of floor space, bringing affordable Scandi-chic homeware to Barnsley, in addition to 12 jobs being created by the Danish brand.


JYSK is an international chain of stores with Scandinavian roots that sells everything for the home. JYSK is well known for high quality, on trend products for the home, from the bedroom to the garden. The brand has earnt a worldwide reputation of expertise and knowledge in sleeping culture and specialises in sleeping products created by experts, from mattresses, duvets, and pillows to bedframes and bases.


To celebrate the launch, JYSK is thrilled to offer an exclusive up to 70% off hundreds of products for the duration of the opening week to all customers shopping in the Barnsley store, as well as additional great offers online and in all stores across the country.

The sky’s the limit for the Danish retailer as they set their next goal of 5000 stores worldwide. JYSK Barnsley will join 26 UK stores. The Danes are continuing to head up plans for expansion nationwide in the UK, with more store openings planned for later on in 2022. JYSK has seen record results from the financial year 2021/2022, with total turnover increasing by 11% to DKK 36.2 billion, with a growth of 7.7 million customers. JYSK’s steady growth is owed to a continued focus by customers on home and garden improvements coupled with store expansion over the last year.
