The Turkish fashion retailer has launched their flagship store in Acacia Mall in the capital of Kampala.
LC Waikiki is one of the fastest growing chains in Europe and currently operates more than 1000 stores across 47 countries. The brands debut into Uganda was celebrated with a fashion show hosted in front of the new store.
Kerem Alp, Turkey’s ambassador to Uganda was in attendance at the opening ceremony and commented that despite Covid-19, Turkish authorities are still committed to seeing that Ugandans have access to Turkey’s high-quality products.
The move comes as part of LC Waikiki’s plans to expand further in Africa, with Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia and South Africa all in the pipeline. Internationally, the brand is also interested in expanding to Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgzyhstan, Malaysia, Peru, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
