Chinese milk tea chain Molly Tea has entered the Indonesian market, opening two stores in Jakarta: at Mall Kelapa Gading 3 and Gandaria City.
The expansion is being undertaken with local partner Jasmine Journey Indonesia and additional locations are planned to open by next month in Summarecon Serpong, The Park Pejaten and Supermal Karawaci.
A spokesperson for Molly Tea said the company views Indonesia as an important market in its international footprint, noting that the brand’s focus on floral-scented teas reflects its approach to balancing aroma, taste and elements of Eastern tea culture.
“Through this debut in Indonesia, we hope to share the serenity found in our floral tea creations and inspire a new appreciation for the art of tea drinking,” said Molly Tea’s spokesperson. Founded in 2020 in Shenzhen, Molly Tea focuses on floral-scented teas and has grown to more than 2,000 stores worldwide.
The company has expanded beyond Mainland China into several major international cities, including Bangkok, Sydney, San Francisco, Toronto, London and Chicago.
