The Royal Exchange has cemented its position as the City of London’s leading luxury destination with watchmaker Omega signing a new lease for its boutique at the scheme.

The Swiss brand has signed a new ten-year lease for the 1,100sq ft unit within The Royal Exchange’s interior courtyard. In addition, high-end pen and accessories marque Montblanc and luxury design house Hermès have both committed to remain at the destination until 2027 and 2028 respectively, while fragrance label Jo Malone has recently reopened following a major store refurbishment.

Omega has had a store at The Royal Exchange since 2012, with its new lease representing a renewed commitment to the scheme. It will be undertaking a full re-fit to create a new boutique that reflects its unique brand and style, giving customers a new experiential space to select their timepiece.

Policy Chairman of the City of London Corporation, Chris Hayward, said: “The Royal Exchange was where our major new City of London destination brand and website was recently launched. This was a pivotal moment for the City Corporation’s flagship Destination City programme, which sets out a vision for the Square Mile to become a world-leading leisure destination for UK and global visitors, workers, and residents to enjoy. We are creating best-in-class leisure in the City, which is coupled with our world-leading role as a financial and professional hub. The Exchange is one of the City’s leading luxury destinations with outstanding shopping and dining. We are delighted to hear it is reporting record trading.”
