Palazzo Fendi Launches in Milan

The new luxury destination of the Roman fashion house owned by LVMH, located at the intersection of Via Montenapoleone and Corso Matteotti, houses a 910sq m boutique, an atelier and three Langosteria restaurants.

Fendi’s new Milanese hub extends over four floors within the rationalist building designed by architect Emilio Lancia, built between 1933 and 1936. The concept, developed by the fashion house’s architecture department, blends details reminiscent of 1930s Milanese interiors with signature Fendi elements, such as existing marble motifs and the house’s special marbles inspired by ancient Roman floors.

The space is enriched by artworks in collaboration with select local galleries and foundations, including the Officine Saffi Foundation, the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and the Mazzoleni and Secci galleries.

The ground floor is dedicated to Fendi women’s accessories and features a deconstructed column by artist Anton Alvarez, custom-made for the brand, at its centre. Roberto Sironi’s handcrafted sculpture dominates the second entrance on the same level.

Moving further inside the store, the accessories room houses fashion jewellery, sunglasses, belts, perfumes and textile accessories. Hanging in the corners are two asymmetrical knotted ceramic pieces by artist Roger Cal, painted in Fendi yellow and bubblegum pink.

The heart of the ground floor is a hexagonal space with twin staircases adorned with two symmetrical artworks by Levy Van Veluw. The ceiling is dominated by a contemporary fresco by artist Edoardo Piermattei, who has decorated the entire stairwell up to the upper floors.

The first level, dedicated to men’s and children’s collections, is reminiscent of a club, with a perforated silver-plated nickel door opening onto the VIP area, inspired by Piero Portaluppi’s Villa Necchi Campiglio. The space is enhanced by a painting by Daniel Crews-Chubbs, “Where the Wild Things Are” and a special fitting room with Roman-inspired wallpaper designed by artist Luke Edward Hall for Rubelli.
