Robot Security Guards Make Debut at US Theme Parks

Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), the company behind ROAMEO, has announced plans to take its robotic officers to Florida.

Set to make their debut at theme parks in the US, robot security guards by ROAMEO (Rugged Observation Assistance Mobile Electronic Officer) are heading to Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Magic Mountain. The company also has plans to take its robotic employees to Florida, home to Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

The autonomous robots are complete with cameras, speakers, a touch screen and a two-way communication system. It can also tell when visitors are in restricted areas and can determine when guests are not wearing face coverings.

Furthermore, they can provide information on wait times for rides, and give directions to attractions. It is important to note that ROAMEO has been designed as a supplement to human security guards and will not replace them. Robotic Assistance Devices intends to deploy 100 robot guards this year and they are now in talks with theme park companies in Orlando.
