The iconic contemporary Japanese restaurant concept offers guests a modern cooking experience centred on the robata grill.
The Roka concept comes from Azumi Ltd (which is also behind the likes of Zuma) and the heart of the restaurant is the robata grill, a traditional Japanese cooking method which was inspired by fisherman cooking over charcoal on boats of Northern coastal water off Japan.
The new restaurant is expected to open shortly after Waldorf Astoria Kuwait’s launch in Autumn 2021. It will be located in The Avenues, real estate developer Mabanee’s 360,000sq m leasable area development and Kuwait’s largest retail, entertainment and lifestyle destination.
Emma Banks, Vice President, F&B Strategy & Development, EMEA, at Hilton, commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Azumi Ltd to bring this award-winning Japanese restaurant concept to Waldorf Astoria Kuwait. Roka’s delicious cuisine and welcoming yet energetic ambiance will no doubt make it a sought-after dining destination.”
