Dubai’s Oud Metha area is set to see a new luxurious hotel later this year as the Sofitel Dubai Wafi gets ready to open its doors in September 2020.

The upcoming property will “merge modern French luxury and ancient Egyptian heritage with the essence and culture of the UAE” within its obelisk-shaped exterior. The new hotel is connected to WAFI Mall; it will feature 498 rooms and suites on top of 97 furnished and serviced apartments, which are ideal for both city breaks and long-term stays. The Imperial Suite and the two Presidential Suites, situated on floors 47, 48 and 49 have been designed by Italian architect firm Duccio Grassi.

The soon-to-be opened site will also feature a state-of-the-art gym, an outdoor swimming pool with private cabanas and a hot tub, and a kids’ club which is inspired by the book Le Petit Prince. There will also be a lot of choice for guests who want to dine at the hotel. There will be Brasserie Boulud, which has been designed by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud who is best known for his two Michelin starred restaurants in New York, the first international outpost of Taiko – an award-winning restaurant from Amsterdam, along with British gastropub The Nine and Bijou Patisserie, which offers sweet treats.
