The cosmetics brand has announced that a new, more sustainable store will launch in France, called the ‘Activist Maker Workshop’.
The first store of this kind will open next week in Dijon, followed by locations in Marseille and Anglet that are set to open in October. Following this, all 65 French stores are intended to be redeveloped under the new store format.
The concept revolves around three main axes, with the first being the charging station which allows customers to purchase a refillable and reusable aluminium bottle and refill it with The Body Shop products, including twelve different shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and liquid hand soaps. The second axes is the material used to create the store. The brand has favoured reclaimed wood and recycled plastic.
Finally, on the supply side, the flagship products by The Body Shop such as the White Musk perfume have been reformulated, becoming 100 per cent vegan with a brand new design made from 42 per cent recycled glass.
