The Iconic Marriott Marquis Times Square is Revamped with Electric Energy and Bright Lights

The renovation of the Marriott Marquis Times Square is now complete. Stonehill Taylor redesigned the famed hotel’s public spaces, including over 110,000 square feet of meeting and events spaces.

Located on Broadway & West 46th Street, The Marriott Marquis Times Square is known as the catalyst of the revitalization of its famous namesake destination. Stonehill Taylor redesigned the spaces to simultaneously feed off the energy of the hotel’s outdoor surroundings while providing a sanctuary away from the busy New York City streets. An escape from urban life was created by bringing in a 28-foot high custom replica Ficus tree and smaller shrubberies placed at the side entrance, which is pulled from the original design of the mid-80s.

Inspired by the vibrant Times Square billboard lights, a “kaleidoscope of energy” was used as a basis for the design concept. A sophisticated yet artful New York theme is carried out throughout the hotel with a lit acrylic 3-D sculpture by Parachilna, warm tones and dark wood furnishes. For a balance of elegant playfulness and interactive experiences, Stonehill Taylor used flexible and varied seating with strategically open yet distinct zones.

At the crossroads of the world, the Marriott Marquis Times Square is a hotel for tourist and high-profile conventions. The signature elevators have been revamped to reflect the electric energy of the hotel’s location.
