World’s longest water slide is expected to be introduced in a theme park in Penang this August. It is expected that the slide will have a height of 70m and length of 1,140 m is still under construction at the Escape Theme Park in Teluk Bahang.
The current Guinness record holder 605m New Jersey water slide created in 2015 will be overtaken by it. Escape Theme Park chief executive officer Sim Choo Kheng said that Guinness World Records officials will test the ride before recognizing it as the world’s longest.
Their plan was to build a water slide which would enable visitors to view the whole park and they did not intend to break the world record. Nevertheless he was proud of what they have achieved.
It is expected that the slide will be the main attraction once completed.Before splashing into the theme park’s swimming pool from the top of the hill, visitors will slide down and cross Jalan Teluk Bahang.
In the construction process the features of the land surface was fully utilized and the trees of the surrounding areas was protected which was the biggest challenge. They had major concerns regarding the environment so they they tries their best to maintain the greenery by not chopping the trees.
