The grocery store giant is launching a number of new test stores with the intention of improving customer shopping experience.

Retail continues to evolve and this year has seen a huge shift in consumer behaviour and demand. Senior Vice President of Associate Product and Next Generation Stores at Walmart US, John Crecelius commented that Walmart are moving quickly to use their physical retail stores to not only serve in-store shoppers, but to also be flexible in order to meet the needs of online shoppers too.

Walmart’s new test stores will help find solutions that can help the brands stores to operate as both physical shopping destinations and online fulfilment centres. Crecelius comments: “We’ve identified these four stores across the country to serve as test centres where we will continuously rotate new technology, digital tools and physical enhancements in and out of the stores all with the intention of helping our associates better and more easily serve our customers. We have two up and running with two more to come.”

The news affirms Walmart’s commitment to serving their customers in the most effective way possible.
