Launched in 2008 by Géraldine and Romain Teboul, a couple from Marseille, the label which was first named Gertrude originally focused on the women’s ready-to-wear segment. In 2015, Gaston’s men’s offering completed the pair.
Then renamed Gertrude+Gaston, the brand has established itself as a French specialist in sleeved pieces, offering a mixed and unisex collection, designed in an urban style. Since the opening of its first store in Marseille five years ago, it has enjoyed growing success, both digitally and in stores. The brand intends to maintain its momentum and intensify its communication strategy. On the store side, it provides for a sustained schedule of openings.
“In ten days, we will open a 200sq m shop in Lyon, at 40, rue de Brest (2nd arrondissement) and then, in a month, another in Avignon, details Bertrand Gippa, the marketing director of the brand. We plan to open three to four new points of sale each year,” he rejoices.
