Burlington Arcade Hits Full Capacity

Historical Luxury shopping destination Burlington Arcade announces that it is at full capacity by signing 12 new brands, bringing the total number of tenants to 47.

The new signings, most of which will open in the fourth quarter in the lead-up to Christmas, will establish the Arcade as one of the key retail forces in central London with the best selection of the most exclusive and rare item brands; unique in London’s retail landscape.

Coined as the “Jewel in Mayfair”, the 37,000sq ft arcade, with a combined frontage of over 1,100 feet, runs along a 196-yard arcade from Piccadilly through to Burlington Gardens. It runs parallel to Bond Street, and is renowned for its unique luxury offering and classical architecture. Reuben Brothers, who acquired the estate in May 2018, have worked to re-invigorate Burlington Arcade to ensure the 203-year-old property is one of the most relevant retail destinations in London. Their vision for the property has adapted to the modern consumer whilst staying true to its heritage and history. This has meant curating a selection of the best brands which share a passion for craftsmanship, quality, provenance and authenticity and that are relevant to an international audience.

Six of the 12 new retailers commenced trading in Q3 including British handmade luxury leather goods brand SWAINE (formally Swaine Adeney Brigg – leather goods) and handbags and ready-to-wear brand Lalage Beaumont, as well as Maunder Watch Co, an independently owned, family-run business that specialises in vintage luxury watches. Merchants on Long, an African luxury concept boutique owned by Hanneli Rupert with items made entirely on the continent from locally sourced materials, and Italian shoe brand Di Minno have also started trading in Burlington Arcade. Art gallery Opera Gallery has also joined Burlington Arcade.

For Q4, two new accessories brands have also chosen Burlington Arcade to open their flagship stores; Scottish cashmere and accessories brand Begg x Co will open a boutique spanning across three floors, and world-renowned Italian leather gloves brand Sermoneta Gloves, return to the UK and to the arcade after 15 years. On the art front, Saatchi Yates will be opening a gallery joining Gagosian who already has a gallery and bookshop in the Arcade.

Jewellery designer Lily Gabriella will launch her first ever showroom within the Penthouse above the Piccadilly entrance, opening in November; 886 Jewellery – The Royal Mint will be opening their first jewellery boutique and CARA Jewellers their first boutique in Europe adding to their current 14 stores in Dubai.
