Shopping Complex to be Converted

The Plaza Imperial shopping centre is set to be converted into Plaza Park Zaragoza through an investment of €56M.

The shopping complex managed by Inversiones Carney is launching its repositioning plan. In this context, the Aragonese shopping centre Plaza Imperial has changed its name to Plaza Park Zaragoza, as part of a broader reconversion project that has a total investment of 56 million euros (a direct injection of 30 million euros that will be added to the 26 million that the operators will invest).

Reimagined as an experiential outdoor retail concept, designed with a strong focus on sustainability, the new complex will have a gross leasable area of 40,000sq m. After the reconstruction, Plaza Park Zaragoza will have services such as green areas, plazas and terraces.

While the design of the new space will be carried out by the architectural team of Joaquín Sicilia y Asociados, the technical architecture of the shopping centre has been assigned to Bayo y García Arquitectos. The remodelling of the complex located opposite the Zaragoza Trade Fair is expected to begin at the end of this year and its opening is scheduled for the last quarter of 2026.
