L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a peaceful waterside village perched in the heart of the French countryside. This enchanting destination is famous for its stone-built charm, historic churches and vineyards. The location’s beauty has created a sanctuary for art lovers and artists, drawing in Frédéric Mistral, René Char, Picasso and Miró – to name a few. Guests can meander through the cobblestone streets, explore the vibrant antique markets, riverside cafes and culinary heritage or simply bask in the symphony of nature for a refined, authentic taste of provincial life.
Stepping into L’Isle de Leos Hotel & Spa – MGallery Collection is to enter a gallery where art and history entwine. The hotel’s rooms and suites celebrate local craftsmanship, from frescoes that dance in the light to sculptural installations that pay homage to the region’s heritage. At the heart of the hotel is a slowly rotating sculptural wheel crafted by artisans that mirrors the iconic water wheel of the village’s historic mills – an ode to time, movement and reflection. Designed by Jean-Philippe Nuel, the interior designer behind the hotel’s décor, an eight metre-long artwork composed of terracotta roof tiles echoes the warmth of the rooftops. Outside, a mirror-like pool and secluded terraces provide moments of quiet contemplation, where the river’s gentle whispers invite a pause.
