Lebanese Lifestyle Concept Liza makes Saudi Debut

The opening marks the Lebanese lifestyle destination’s entry into the Kingdom, with its first Saudi location at Diriyah’s Bujairi Terrace. It forms part of a broader portfolio developed by MJS Investment.

Liza Asseily, Co-Founder of Liza, shared: “No matter the city, Liza is always about welcoming people as if they were coming into our own home.”

This principle underpins how Liza operates, regardless of location and guides decisions around service, atmosphere and guest engagement. Founded by Liza and Ziad Asseily, the restaurant was conceived from the outset as more than a restaurant concept. It brings together food, music, design and social interaction, shaped around shared meals and hosting traditions.

The brand’s arrival in Riyadh aims to represent the continuation of this approach in a city experiencing increased cultural engagement and public interest in lifestyle-led dining experiences.

Hospitality is central to Liza’s operating philosophy. Liza Asseily says: “Hosting is about generosity and presence. It’s about making people feel comfortable, welcomed and cared for; the kind of feeling that makes you want to stay a little longer.”

The experience is designed to extend beyond the food offering and includes service approach, pacing of the evening and the role of music and ambience.

For Ziad Asseily, the decision to open in Riyadh was driven by alignment rather than rapid expansion. He described: “Riyadh felt like the right next chapter because of its energy and intention. It’s a city evolving with confidence, deeply connected to its identity, yet open to dialogue and exchange.”

After growing the brand between Paris and Beirut, Riyadh was identified as a market where Liza’s values could be applied in a way that respects local context while maintaining the brand’s core principles.
