The brand has made its biggest jump yet with the London sports/streetwear brand’s arrival in Hong Kong headlining its planned expansion across Asia.
Opened on 7 February on Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, it is the company’s first standalone site in Hong Kong and draws inspiration from an unusual source, specifically the former police headquarters block in which it resides.
The design “reflects the city’s layered cultural identity, reworking its iconic neon signage through Palace’s unmistakable visual language”, the brand said. Rooted in “brick, tile and neon”, the store brings together Hong Kong history and Palace’s DNA, “delivering a bold new retail space for the brand’s growing presence in the region”.
To coincide with the opening, Palace released a selection of Hong Kong-exclusive pieces, including a capsule in collaboration with football club South China (SCAA). The limited drop features a tracksuit, jersey and cap, “paying homage to one of Hong Kong’s most historic football teams and nodding to the sport’s longstanding influence on Palace’s design language and deep-rooted connection to football culture”.
Additional Hong Kong exclusive merchandise will also be available, including a varsity jacket, hoodies, T-shirts and accessories. The pieces feature graphics inspired by the city and its heritage, referencing traditional symbols such as the dragon and yin and yang, “drawn from ancient Chinese philosophy and reinterpreted through Palace’s distinctive visual lens”.
