Kantami Opens Second Saudi Site

The Japanese izakaya experience Kantami has opened in Riyadh, marking the brand’s second location following its debut in Al Khobar.

Located in Nawaf Square, the opening reflects the studio’s continued focus on developing hospitality formats built around narrative, cultural reference and experiential design.

Fahad Alturki, Founder and CEO of Green Sand Concepts, said: “Everything we create at GSC begins with soul, shaping experiences that feel honest, expressive and deeply rooted in culture. Kantami was never conceived as just a place to dine, but as a world to step into, where food carries a sense of place and creates lasting memories. With this second location, every detail has been carefully brought together to bridge past and future through experiential storytelling, Japanese cuisine that is thoughtful and ingredient-led and a form of hospitality that feels timeless yet made for today.”

Developed by Green Sand Concepts, Kantami is positioned as a Japanese izakaya concept shaped by storytelling rather than a conventional dining model. The concept draws on Japanese culture and culinary practice while presenting an interpretation intended to move beyond standardised formats.

According to the company, Kantami was created to respond to a gap in the regional market by offering an experience that prioritises cultural principles, craft and identity over commercial familiarity.
