Get Living has announced that independent operator, The Arc Cinema, will open a new nine-screen venue at The Filigree, its mixed-use neighbourhood in the heart of Lewisham, London.
The new cinema will become The Arc Cinema’s ninth UK location and will feature its premium large-format HYPERSENSE screen – one of only four the operator has introduced nationwide.
It will also include 4K laser projection, immersive Dolby Atmos® surround sound and luxury recliner seating in every screen, and designed to deliver a high-quality viewing experience, while remaining welcoming and accessible to local audiences.
The venue will form a key part of The Filigree, Get Living’s mixed-use neighbourhood that combines new homes with a curated mix of retail, leisure and community spaces.
It has been designed to create a lively and inclusive destination that supports local businesses, generates new jobs and encourages people to live, work and spend time locally, contributing to the continued regeneration of Lewisham town centre.
Michael Roberts, Head of Asset Management, Get Living, said:
“We’re pleased to welcome The Arc Cinema to The Filigree. Cinema plays an important role in creating places where people come together and The Arc Cinema’s focus on quality, accessibility and community makes them a great fit for our vision for the neighbourhood. Its arrival is another important step in building a lively and inclusive destination that benefits both residents and the wider local area.”
Brian Gilligan, Director, The Arc Cinema, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be bringing The Arc Cinema to Lewisham and to be part of The Filigree development. It’s an honour to join such an important project, and we’re genuinely excited about creating local jobs, welcoming new team members, and playing a positive role within the existing Lewisham community.
“We’re looking forward to introducing The Arc Cinema’s special blend of luxury recliner seating, friendly local teams and great-value pricing, alongside a broad programme of films and community activity. Our aim is for the cinema to become a welcoming, inclusive space — a place people feel comfortable returning to week after week, and a long-term cornerstone that complements and supports the area around it.”
