Retailers Reaffirm Commitment to The Forge Shopping Centre

The Forge Shopping Centre in Parkhead, Glasgow, is marking a strong period of retail investment, with four major brands committing to the centre through long-term lease renewals, store expansions and full refits.

Leading high street retailers Peacocks and Bonmarché have both committed to the centre for another five years. The renewals reaffirm the retailer’s confidence in The Forge Shopping Centre as a key shopping destination for Parkhead, Glasgow. Having traded successfully for over eight years at The Forge Shopping Centre, both retailers continue to provide shoppers with accessible, affordable fashion.

Adding to this, Greggs will be relocating to a significantly larger unit within the centre, offering an expanded menu and additional seating, giving shoppers a comfortable place to take a break during their visit.

Investments continue within the centre with Costa Coffee temporarily closing from 12 to 26 June 2026 for a full store refit. This will provide shoppers with a refreshed customer experience and a new, relaxed environment to enjoy a coffee in.

Commenting on the leasing announcement, Jodi Robertson, Marketing Coordinator at The Forge Shopping Centre, said, “To have four major retailers investing in The Forge at the same time is a real statement of confidence in what we’re building here. These aren’t just renewals, they’re commitments to our community and we’re excited about what that means for shoppers in Parkhead and across Glasgow.”

This follows the recently announced arrival of leisure tenant Pure Padel, further broadening the centre’s offer beyond traditional retail. The Forge Shopping Centre is set to continue its upward trend into 2026, reinforcing its position as a key retail and leisure hub for Parkhead and the wider Glasgow area.
