The country has revealed the next steps for the National Tennis Centre at Qiddiya City, a landmark development designed to position the Kingdom as a major destination for international tennis, elite athlete development and grassroots participation.
Located 45km west of Riyadh, the project will become the region’s largest tennis complex, featuring 30 courts built to ATP, WTA and ITF standards, alongside major event venues, training facilities and community spaces. Construction is already underway on the development, which has been designed by globally renowned sports architecture firm Populous.
Saudi Arabia’s upcoming National Tennis Centre will feature:
- 30 tennis courts in total
- 28 hard courts
- 2 clay courts
- 33,000 total seats across the complex
- 15,000-seat Centre Court with retractable roof
- 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena with retractable roof
- 5,000-seat Court 1
- 2,000-seat Court 2
- 6 competition courts
- 6 indoor courts
- 14 practice courts
- Located 45km west of Riyadh
Qiddiya Investment Company said the National Tennis Centre will play a key role in establishing Saudi Arabia as a future hub for international tennis while supporting elite player development, grassroots participation and year-round community play.
The complex is being integrated into the landscape of Qiddiya City, with layered green facades woven into the surrounding Tuwaiq Mountains.
The project forms part of Qiddiya City’s wider ambition to become a global destination for entertainment, sport and culture while creating new opportunities for residents, visitors and businesses.
The announcement adds to growing momentum across Qiddiya City following the recent opening of Six Flags theme park, Aquarabia, the Middle East’s largest water park and PlayMaker Studios, the purpose-built film production hub.
