Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower to Eclipse Burj Khalifa

Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower is expected to rise to at least 167 storeys, comfortably surpassing the Burj Khalifa’s 163.

The tower, which is designed to exceed one kilometre in height, is once again advancing after years of delays. Fresh construction activity marks a significant milestone for one of the region’s most closely watched megaprojects as it looks set to become the tallest building in the world.

Industry reports indicate the skyscraper will feature a minimum of 167 floors, surpassing both the height and storey count of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, which stands at 828 metres and has held the title of the world’s tallest building since 2010.

Located in Jeddah Economic City, the landmark development is a centrepiece of Saudi Arabia’s wider real estate and economic transformation ambitions under Vision 2030. The project will include residential units, office space, hospitality offerings and an observation deck overlooking the Red Sea.

Construction originally began in 2013 before work stalled. The project has since returned to active development, reviving ambitions to deliver a new global architectural icon and a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving urban landscape.
