Frasers Group Strengthens Strategic Partnership with MAP Active

The company has agreed to sell 100 per cent of its interest in Sports Direct Malaysia to strategic partner, MAP Active.

Frasers Group will receive c. US$150M for the sale, subject to final completion adjustments and will enter into a long-term agreement under which MAP Active will further grow and develop Sports Direct in Malaysia, with a continuing income stream payable to Frasers Group.

This builds on the Group’s existing partnership with MAP Active across Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, complementing Frasers Group’s Southeast Asian market strategy to unlock eWiciencies and streamline operations in the region.

MAP Active’s established infrastructure, local expertise and portfolio of distributed brands will further accelerate the growth of Sports Direct in the region, supporting the shared ambition to open over 350 stores long-term and deliver the world’s best sport and lifestyle brands to over 600 million consumers.

The partnership reflects Frasers Group’s continued commitment to working with trusted local partners to drive international expansion and deliver sustainable growth.
