The Dubai-based fragrance house renowned for its mastery of Oud and fine perfume ingredients, Ajmal, has opened its first store in the Western Hemisphere here in the UK, at Westfield London in White City, alongside a UK e-commerce site.
The landmark opening marks an exciting new chapter for the third-generation family-owned fragrance house, bringing Ajmal’s rich perfumery heritage, distinctive craftsmanship and contemporary fragrance collections directly to UK consumers.
Founded in 1951 by the late Haji Ajmal Ali, Ajmal has grown from a modest family business into one of the world’s most respected fragrance houses. Now led by the third generation of the Ajmal family, the company combines more than 75 years of knowledge and tradition with a forward-looking approach to modern luxury fragrance.
From its beginnings in India to its international home in Dubai, Ajmal has remained deeply connected to the art of perfumery. The house is especially celebrated as purveyor of the finest Oud, one of the world’s most precious fragrance ingredients, which it cultivates from its plantation of ten million Agarwood trees in Assam, Northeast India. The plantation also grows fine perfume ingredients such as jasmine sambac, jasmine grandiflorum, tuberose, mimosa, lotus, rose, lavender and chamomile.
Ajmal’s unique “farm to fragrance” philosophy sets it apart within the global perfume industry. As a grower, manufacturer and retailer, the company oversees the entire fragrance journey, from cultivating and sourcing precious ingredients to research, development, blending and production.
