The Spanish retailer Alcampo is set to open its very first company-owned supermarket in Andalusia, Spain.
The store will be located in the Altos del Higuerón shopping centre in Benalmádena in Málaga and is scheduled to open by the end of 2026. While Alcampo has been present in Andalusia since 1989, the new opening will mark the introduction of the retailer’s own supermarket model in the region under the Alcampo Supermercado banner.
Alcampo highlighted that new store is designed to meet local consumer habits, with a focus on fresh products. The store will feature a sales area of 1,200sq m and will employ 40 people. The retailer also noted that the new Alcampo Supermercado will include staffed counters for butchery, fishmonger, bakery, ready meals, delicatessen and cheese. In addition, the store will feature a dedicated wine section.
Alcampo highlighted that the store will offer a wide product range, including everyday essentials and more specialised products. In addition, customers will be able to place orders via Alcampo’s online shop and collect their purchases from refrigerated lockers at the new store.
