Comic Con to Return to Abu Dhabi Following Delay

WWE champion and Hollywood actor John Cena will headline the celebrity line-up when the Middle East Film & Comic Con opens at ADNEC next month.

The Middle East Film & Comic Con will return to Abu Dhabi next month after being postponed for almost five months, with organisers announcing that its top-tier VIP tickets have already sold out.

The region’s largest pop-culture festival was originally scheduled to take place from April 24 to 26. It will now run from September 11 to 13 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

Demand appears to have remained strong despite the change of dates. The event’s official website states that VIP packages have sold out, while standard admission remains available.

The VIP package included access across all three days, ten autograph or photograph vouchers, fast-track access, exclusive merchandise and a private group meeting with selected celebrities.

John Cena, the WWE champion who has built a second career in Hollywood, is the biggest name confirmed for the 2026 event. Cena is known for films and television programmes including The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Faxt X and F9, alongside a wrestling career spanning more than two decades.

Other confirmed guests include One Piece actors Mackenyu and Jacob Romero, Guardians of the Galaxy star Pom Klementieff, Teen Wolf actor Arden Cho, Bridgerton star Charithra Chandran and Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in several Star Wars productions.
