Leading foreign exchange company Travelex has announced the opening and upgrading of three key store locations in Qatar.
Travelex’s has more than doubled its customer service points from three to seven locations at the state-of-the-art Doha Al Jadeda metro station, enabling customers more convenient access to travel money services. First opened in 2022, the store continues to serve one of the city’s busiest transport corridors on the Doha metro.
A new landside store has also now opened at the recently expanded Hamad International Airport, where Travelex operates 15 stores, including its traditional stores in prime passenger route locations as well as its fully mobile, dual-sided FX kiosks. The new store will help meet customer demand for travel money at HIA, with the airport having handled a record 54.3 million passengers in 2025 – up three per cent from the previous year.
Travelex has also launched a new store in Doha’s historical Matar Qadeem district primarily offering remittance services. With expats making up approximately 88 per cent of Qatar’s total population, the new store will enable customers to send money to over 350,000 locations globally.
“Despite recent challenges, Qatar continues to see strong long-term momentum in international travel and these new openings ensure we are well positioned to meet growing customer demand across key locations,” said Batu Dölay, Travelex Managing Director – Middle East and Turkey & Southeast Asia. “The addition of a landside presence at Hamad International Airport, alongside our expanded metro station store and new Matar Qadeem branch, allows us to better serve both travellers and local communities with greater convenience and accessibility,” he added.
