Zadie’s, the 258-cover flagship restaurant and bar at Medlock Square, is officially open, bringing a groundbreaking new space for dining, drinking and entertainment to East Manchester.
Set high above Medlock Square, Zadie’s has been designed as a destination in its own right. Vast windows frame panoramic views stretching towards the South Pennines, while deep banquette seating wraps around a striking central bar. With 258 dining covers and a further 30 counter seats; the restaurant is built for long dinners, cocktails and nights that carry on well beyond the last course. Its elevated position also offers an unexpected view across the Etihad Stadium, but the focus is firmly on the experience inside – a place to come for dinner, drinks and entertainment, whether that’s before or after an event at Co-op Live or simply a reason to be out.
From Wednesday to Sunday, 5pm until 1am, Zadie’s will build from dinner into a full evening spectacle with live vocals, sax and percussion alongside DJ sets bringing a changing soundtrack to the room throughout the night. The entertainment will go beyond the expected, with evolving experimental performances and theatrical moments, from magicians and ballerinas to themed shows and live acts. With the programme changing throughout the week, each night will offer a different take on the Zadie’s experience.
The restaurant has been developed by Director of Restaurants Laura Montana, whose background in hospitality spans senior positions at The Ivy and Sexy Fish, stints at Monkey Bar in New York and launches from Switzerland to LA, alongside global hospitality specialists Gorgeous Group, led by Manchester-born Robbie Bargh. Together, they have gathered a team of hospitality talent to create a venue that combines food, drinks, entertainment, art and design under one roof. Zadie’s celebrates the hedonism of the 90s, bringing together the freedom and creative expression of the decade through the lens of music and food, teasing out a Manchester vibe, with a distinctly global edge.
