Kyochon Chicken to Open First Tokyo Store in 2027 Under Multi-unit Franchise Model

Kyochon F&B, the Korean operator of Kyochon Chicken, has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Arai Corporation, a Japanese food distribution company, to enter the Japanese market, with its first store planned for Tokyo in the first half of 2027.

Kyochon will expand locally through a “multi-unit franchise” model, operating multiple stores within the contract area.

Kyochon will target the Japanese market with its unique sauce and cooking method as awareness of Korean chicken grows overseas, then expand gradually to surrounding cities based on market reactions.

The two companies will cooperate on quality management, marketing and operation training to establish Kyochon in Japan, aiming to maintain its taste and quality while reaching more Japanese consumers through local staff training and marketing.

An official from Kyochon F&B said, “Based on the cooperation between the two companies, we will introduce the unique taste and quality of Kyochon chicken in Japan and develop Japan as a new growth axis for the Kyochon global business.”

Through the partnership, Kyochon F&B and Arai Corporation aim to establish Kyochon Chicken in Japan, building a local presence in Tokyo and beyond that preserves the brand’s taste and quality while positioning the market as a new growth driver for its global business.
