The new £32m mixed-use scheme, located in the Carnaby precinct in London has officially been given the green light by Westminster Council. The planning committee of Westminster Council granted consent to an application from Shaftesbury for a new retail scheme, located at 72 Broadwick Street.
The 1970s building offers more than just retail, boasting a restaurant, leisure and residential space and also an extension and also a refurbishment of the remaining office space. Extensive renovation work will be carried out to the external facades of the building.
Shaftesbury said that the estimated cost of the scheme would be £32 million. The work is expected to start in September 2019, with an aim to be completed in late 2021. Shaftesbury stipulated that the retail space in front of Carnaby Street would be largely unaffected by the work.
