‘Haunted Basement’ set to open

Rosedale Center has got creative with a vacated space. The construction is now underway for a non-profit arts organization; ‘Haunted Basement’ to launch an interactive horror house experience at Minnesota Mall.

The Haunted Basement experience is based on ‘absurdist psychological horror’ where artist-driven environments focus on performance, dance, professional clowning, improv and theatrical influences. According to the Haunted Basement website, visitors should expect strong smells, physical contact, and projectile liquids. They may get ‘very messy’ may have to crawl, and may find themselves “in a confined space with something horrible.’

The experience is set to launch at the end of September and it will then be open to the public. The event will close on November 2. However a spokesperson stated that ‘the Rosedale Center space will continue as the headquarters of the arts organization and will host other events in addition to their annual signature event, Haunted Basement.
