The EUR 7.5 mln park is divided into six themed recreation zones. The focal point is a central square in the park with a fountain, a café and outdoor seating. The area includes wooden walkways, play areas, and workout zones, with outdoor training areas and table tennis tables.
The project is part of Ingka’s EUR 2 bln plan to turn their Russian malls into vibrant meeting places. The company has currently 14 Mega branded malls in Russia’s eleven largest cities.
“We are transforming our Russian malls to ensure they remain relevant for most people long into the future with the new park at Mega Ekaterinburg being just one example of how we’re doing this. It all helps ensure our 246 mln annual visitors in Russia return time and again, benefitting both our tenants and partners,” said Milen Gentchev, the global operations director of Ingka Centres.
