CLIFTON PARK — SingleCut Beersmiths, the New York City-based brewery that purchased the Shmaltz Brewery off Van Patten Drive last year, has taken off as a full-fledged brewery, with a newly opened store and a taproom coming soon.
SingleCut is a growing craft brewery that was founded in 2012, in northern Queens. With the purchase of the Clifton Park facility, it was be able to increase its output in a way that was not possible at the smaller New York City location.
While Shmaltz retained its corporate identity and its labels, it’s returned to its roots as a producer of beer brewed under contract by other companies. Shmaltz had its own brewery for only the past five of its 22 years in business.
