Accor, the leading augmented hospitality group, today announces the signing of a new ibis Styles hotel in Seven Kings, East London, in partnership with NOVUM Hospitality, one of Germany’s largest family-run hotel companies.
The newly built 3-star hotel will be branded as ibis Styles and is expected to open in Q1 2020. Developed by DSJ Homes Ltd, ibis Styles London Seven Kings will boast 92 en-suite rooms, all fully equipped with air-conditioning and in-room entertainment. The lobby will be a multi-functional space, encouraging guests, leisure and corporate alike, and the local community alike to relax and unwind in the bar, lounge and coffee shop areas.
The interior theme of ibis Styles Seven Kings is inspired by the idea of “An Oasis in the City” bringing touches of nature and parkland into the design through greens and autumnal colours including burnt orange and yellow hues, accents of timber, floral features and featuring lighting. Bedrooms will celebrate parkland greens with multiple textures including more luxurious fabrics, timbers geometric leaf carpets all working together to create a tranquil, relaxed and refreshing bedroom to stay in.Speaking of the new signing, Philip Lassman, VP Development, Accor Northern Europe commented: “This signing is a significant indication of the confidence a leading European hospitality operator has in both the Ibis Styles brand and the regeneration and reinvention of East London.
“This brand new hotel will be consistent with the look and feel of the ibis Styles network, having a distinctly modern design while also keeping its own local personality. We are confident that the hotel’s positioning as an oasis in the city, along with its prime East London location, will attract both leisure and business travellers to the area. We are delighted that NOVUM Hospitality has chosen this partnership as its first foray into the UK market and we hope that it is the first of many joint developments.”
David Etmenan, Chief Executive Officer and Owner NOVUM Hospitality added: “We are more than happy to finally take root in the British capital. As one of the major tourism players worldwide, London and the rest of the UK market are of significant importance to us. This European prime location entirely resonates with our growth strategy and we are very much looking forward to further developing both our own as well as our franchised partner brands on an international scale.”
Marcus Kinsella of hotel property specialist Gerard Nolan & Partners, who acted on behalf of DSJ Homes, the developer of the site, commented: “We had strong interest from a selection of established hotel and extended stay operators who were attracted to this emerging East London market. The hotel benefits from being situated adjacent to Seven Kings station, which will be served by Crossrail, providing hotel guests with direct access into Central London.”
Accor and NOVUM Hospitality plan to amplify their franchise partnership by introducing another project in Arnhem, the Netherlands, run under ibis Styles brand in 2021.
Located in a prime East London location, the hotel is situated next to Seven Kings station providing guests with direct access into central London, with Liverpool Street only a 20-minute train journey away. London City Airport is also only eight miles away and Ilford town centre is less than a 10-minute drive. Key London venues such as the O2 Arena, ExCel Centre and the London Stadium are all easily accessible.
