The Dutch-based non-food discount retailer has reached an enormous milestone, opening its 2,000th store in Prague.
Founded just under thirty years ago, Action opened its very first store in 1993 in Enkhuizen, in the Netherlands. Just ten years late, the chain has opened its hundredth store and its expansion has only continued accelerating since.
Today the company is active in nine countries, including the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Poland. Alongside this and their latest opening in the Netherlands, Action has announced plans to open their very first store in Spain soon.
According to CEO Hajir Hajji, the company is proud to start the year with this significant milestone, for which she praises all 65,000 Action employees in a press releases. Furthermore, the company has announced additional steps towards a more sustainable company in the future, with plans for all stores store to use renewable energy by the end of 2024 and an elaboration of its sustainability initiatives should be released soon.
